Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 June 2026
SamZar ("SamZar", "we", "us", "our") is operated by SAMZAR SARL, a limited liability company registered in Fez, Morocco (registered office: Rue 6 N° 71, Av Saint Louis, Hay Saada 2, 1er étage, Fez; Registre de Commerce no. 1470).
This policy explains what personal data we collect through samzar.com, why, and your rights. We aim to comply with Moroccan data protection law (Law No. 09-08, overseen by the CNDP) and, for visitors in the UK and EU, the principles of the UK/EU GDPR.
1. What we collect
We collect very little.
Information you give us
- When you use our submission form ("Share with SamZar") to submit an event, a craft video, or a news / community story: your name, email address, and the content you submit (e.g. event details, a video link, story text, photo links).
- When you contact us by email or WhatsApp: whatever you choose to send.
We do not have user accounts, passwords or logins, and we do not take payments on this website.
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical data (e.g. region-level IP address, browser and device type) and aggregate usage data, collected by our hosting provider and Vercel Analytics, to keep the site working and understand traffic.
2. How we use it
- To review and, if approved, publish submissions (events on the Fez Listings page; videos and stories are reviewed manually).
- To reply to enquiries.
- To operate, secure and improve the website.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Submissions and public visibility
If we approve a submission, the content may be published on samzar.com (for example, an event listing). We may edit submissions for length, clarity or suitability, and we may decline them. We do not publish your email address. The rights you grant when you submit are set out in our Terms of Use.
4. Who we share it with / where it is stored
We use trusted third-party services to run the site:
- Google (Google Forms and Google Sheets) — receives and stores form submissions.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Vercel Analytics — anonymous, aggregate site analytics.
These providers may store or process data outside Morocco, including in the United States. We share data only as needed to run the site, or where required by law. We do not sell data.
5. Retention
We keep submission data for as long as needed to review and, where relevant, publish it, and for our records. You can ask us to delete your personal data (see "Your rights").
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, or object to its processing. To make a request, email hello@samzar.com. Visitors in Morocco also have rights under Law 09-08 and may contact the CNDP.
7. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and reputable service providers. No online service is completely secure, but we take care to safeguard the limited information we hold.
8. Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 (or the age of digital consent where you live). We do not knowingly collect their personal data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy and will post the revised version with a new "Last updated" date.
10. Contact
This policy is general information, not legal advice. Because SamZar is now a Moroccan company, the CNDP regime (Law 09-08) may require you to declare or register certain data processing — have this reviewed locally before relying on it.
